Common Issues
You can try these steps to troubleshoot your OBS Websocket connection to LB:
- Reinstall OBS websocket
Try completely reinstalling the plugin. Make sure you have the latest version.
You can check whether your OBS websocket is correctly installed by going to OBS-Tools-Websockets Server Settings. - Run as administrator
Try running LioranBoard as administrator. Right click on LioranBoard and selectRun as administrator
. - Check your firewall and antivirus
Make sure your firewall is not blocking LB.
You can try temporarily disabling your antivirus/firewall or adding an exception to allow the app through. - Check OBS websocket password
Your passwords in OBS-Tools-Websockets Server Settings and LioranBoard-OBS Connections need to match. If you do not use a password, uncheck Enable authentication.\ - Change Ports
Change the port of OBS websocket (both in OBS and LioranBoard) to a new one, for example 4445. - Try Non Blocking Connection
In your LioranBoard, go to OBS Connections and check/uncheck non blocking connection. - Change IP connection
Normally you use 127.0.0.1 to connect to OBS, but you can try local IP as well.- Launch command line (cmd.exe) and run
ipconfig
command. - Note down your IPv4 address (it will start with
192.168
). - Go to LioranBoard-OBS Connection and change the IP address.
Try connecting using other means
You can try a chrome extension Simple Websocket Client to check if you can make a connection in the first place.
- Launch command line (cmd.exe) and run
Outdated Stream Deck
Make sure you’re using the latest version of Stream Deck.
Wrong IP/port
If you press ‘Connect’ in your StreamDeck and nothing happens (you only see the progress icon), it means it hasn’t established a successful connection to LioranBoard. The reason can be a wrong IP address/port, VPN or something else blocking the port.
Wrong or corrupted deck files
Sometimes Stream Deck files can get corrupted and start crashing Stream Deck on launch. Deleting and downloading a new Stream Deck will not help, as its files are stored in your AppData folder.
- Completely close your Stream Deck.
- Navigate to
C:/user/%username/appdata/local/LioranBoard_Stream_Deck
- Delete everything in the folder. Don’t worry, these are only your deck data and your Stream Deck will automatically generate them again!
- Relaunch your Stream Deck.
Getting an ERR_BADAUTH error #
Your auth token probably expired.
- In your LioranBoard, go to Twitch Connections-Revoke Token.
- Link your Twitch account again by pressing Open URL.
Twitch Alerts don’t work #
Check your Transmitter connection
Make sure your Transmitter is running is connected to LioranBoard (the status should be green for Transmitter in your left bottom corner in LioranBoard).
In your Transmitter it must say Pubsub: Connected.
Try triggering a test alert from your Transmitter
In your Transmitter, go to Twitch Triggers tab and press any of the test buttons.
A small yellow notification message should pop up at the bottom of your LioranBoard.
- I do not see the message at all - your Transmitter is not connected to LioranBoard. You might be running a wrong version or duplicate instance of your Transmitter.
- I see the message, but buttons do not trigger at all - your button triggers are set up wrong. Follow the guide in our Triggers section.
- I see the message, buttons trigger, but nothing happens in OBS - You’re either not connected to OBS or your commands are wrong.
Twitch: Send message doesn’t work #
Check you’re connected to Twitch Chat
In LioranBoard-Twitch Connections, press Connect Twitch Chat and check Auto connect to Twitch Chat
, otherwise you will need to press this button every time you launch LioranBoard.
Check you’re sending the message to the right channel
- If you have only a single Twitch account linked to your LioranBoard, leave the channel name empty.
- If you have multiple Twitch accounts linked to your LioranBoard, correctly fill out the channel name with your Twitch channel name (all lowercase characters)
Check you’re not sending too many messages
If you send too many messages in a short period of time from LioranBoard, Twitch might temporarily block you from sending more.
Twitch Chat Whispers do not work #
Check you’re using the right formatting
You can send a whisper by using Twitch: Send Message command and putting /w username
in the message field.
Request Verified Bot Status
Sometimes Twitch will block your account from sending whispers from 3rd party applications (such as LioranBoard).
You can try filling out the IRC Command and Message Rate form to verify your bot.
Antivirus/Firewall Try allowing the app through your firewall/antivirus.
Voicemeeter
If you are running Voicemeeter, you need to launch it AFTER LioranBoard.
Alternatively, the default output audio device needs to be set to the Voicemeeter virtual device.
Faulty sound drivers You can try reinstalling your sound drivers.
Incompatible versions between receiver and stream deck
You have a newer version of the stream deck compared to the receiver. Close all connections to LB (OBS, Stream Deck) and restart LB, then update it to the latest version.
If the crash persists, you can also save the ‘json’ folder in your LioranBoard 2 folder to a different location, then delete the folder. Restart (or download a new copy of LioranBoard), then update your receiver to the latest version. After doing so and verifying that it no longer crashes, copy the json back into your LioranBoard folder.
